Now that the MAYHEM era is approaching its final act, Lady Gaga is once again proving why she remains one of the most fascinating and theatrical figures in contemporary pop culture.
On May 14, Apple Music will premiere Apple Music Live: Lady Gaga MAYHEM Requiem worldwide, a cinematic and musical experience that completely reinvents the universe of MAYHEM, Gaga’s seventh studio album and one of the most celebrated projects of her career.

Filmed live on January 14 at The Wiltern, the performance presents Gaga in a far more intimate and emotional setting, stepping away from the operatic grandeur of The MAYHEM Ball tour to explore the emotional and sonic ruins of this era.
A Gothic Opera Turned Into an Intimate Confession
Over the past year, MAYHEM became a spectacle of visual excess, haute couture, and dark theatricality. Gaga’s international tour introduced a dramatic universe where duality, death, and rebirth constantly took center stage. Now, in MAYHEM Requiem, that grand theater symbolically collapses.
Surrounded by cracked columns, dim lighting, and fragmented scenery, Gaga appears almost alone at the piano and synthesizers, reinterpreting hits such as “Abracadabra” and “Disease” through new arrangements filled with melancholy and dramatic intensity.
The project serves as an artistic farewell to the MAYHEM era—an era that saw Gaga reconnect with audiences and return to her musical roots—while also acting as an emotional deconstruction of the album itself. Less spectacle, more vulnerability and intensity, amplifying every element that has always defined Lady Gaga as the artist she is.

The Global Impact of MAYHEM
With MAYHEM, Gaga reminded the world of the cultural impact her music continues to have on pop culture, further cementing her status as a global icon.
Executive produced by Gaga, Michael Polansky, and Andrew Watt, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming the artist’s seventh consecutive album to top the chart.
The record also dominated Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart for 17 weeks and earned multiple international certifications, including platinum and gold recognitions across more than 26 countries.
One of the project’s defining moments arrived with Die With a Smile, Gaga’s collaboration with Bruno Mars. Released ahead of the album, the single spent 18 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and five weeks atop the Hot 100.
At the Grammy Awards 2026, MAYHEM won Best Pop Vocal Album and received nominations for Album of the Year, Song of the Year for “Abracadabra,” and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Disease.”
