Just as Española Way, Ocean Drive, and the legendary Villa Casuarina of Gianni Versace have become must-see locations, ORO now emerges as a luxury and upscale dining experience set to redefine South Beach’s culinary prestige.
An Atmosphere of Elegance and Sophistication
When guests step inside, they are welcomed into an atmosphere of refined luxury. The entrance features a glass ceiling adorned with golden lights, reminiscent of a starry sky, leading up an elegant golden staircase to the main dining area on the second floor. The restaurant houses two full-service bars at the entrance, overlooking the open kitchen, and another on the outdoor balcony, offering an immersive view of the bustling Lincoln Road pedestrian street. The golden aesthetic is present in every detail, exuding an air of sophistication and exclusivity.
Seated on the balcony, I enjoyed the perfect ambiance, where the outdoor gardens blended seamlessly with the urban landscape. The elegant attire of the other guests created an atmosphere of celebration and refinement.
A Culinary Journey Crafted by Chef Víctor Muñoz
Lucas, an incredibly attentive server, expertly guided our experience. He introduced us to Chef Víctor Muñoz’s vision and shared how Muñoz’s global culinary explorations have influenced the menu, shaping ORO into an avant-garde experience inspired by traditional flavors from around the world.
His recommendations were spot-on. We began with the Uni Beignets—French-inspired fritters filled with Kaluga caviar, horseradish, and Iberian ham. These bite-sized delights burst in the mouth, creating an unforgettable sensation. This was, without a doubt, the standout dish of the night.
We also indulged in the Wagyu Tar, blue corn arepas topped with quince and salsa criolla, and the Tom Kha Crudo, a reimagined ceviche featuring fresh hamachi, kombu, wasabi, caviar, and finger limes. These exquisite starters, categorized under the «Euphoria» section of the menu, set the stage for an extraordinary dining experience.
The main course’s menu is divided into Aqua, Terra, and Harvest. Our selections included:
Lobster Shawarma is a visually stunning dish that seafood lovers will find irresistible, blending flavor and presentation masterfully.
Wagyu-X Farms Short Rib – Melt-in-your-mouth wagyu short ribs, accompanied by a subtle celery-infused purée, thinly sliced radish, and roasted Concord grapes, adding a perfect balance of sweetness and depth.
A Sweet Finale: Desserts & Signature Cocktails
The dessert selection at ORO is just as impressive as its savory offerings. We indulged in:
Mil Chocolate Tart – A beautifully balanced chocolate dessert for those who appreciate refined, not overly sweet flavors.
Coconut Banoffee – A personal favorite. This perfectly balanced dessert highlights coconut ganache, banana bread, and white chocolate, delivering an unforgettable finish.
Of course, the cocktail program at ORO deserves its spotlight. The restaurant’s extensive drink menu is a must-explore. Two standout cocktails:
Adam’s Apple – A refreshing and subtly sweet drink that delivers a burst of apple flavor. Made with Truman Vodka, Massenez Pomme Vert, Noilly Pratt Dry Vermouth, Lusrau Fino Sherry, Skins Mastiha, and green apple cordial.
Ambrosia is my absolute favorite. It is an aromatic and richly textured cocktail with an elegant presentation. It is a sophisticated blend of Truman Vida, Signan 63, Italicus, lychee, guava, almond, and nitro.
A Must-Visit Dining Destination
